DE: Bel ist das Volapükische Wort für Berg, abgeleitet vom deutschen Wort. Merken Sie dass das 'r' im Berg wird durch 'l' ersetzt. Das wurde häufig in Volapük getan, aber nicht soviel in der modernen Form von Volapük.


In Balapook 'r' wird immer durch 'l' ersetzt, weil ich wirklich den Buchstaben 'r' hasse.

EN: bel is also the Volapük word for mountain, derived from the German word Berg. Note that the 'r' in Berg is replaced by 'l'. This was done often in the original form of Volapük, not so much in the modern form.

In Balapook 'r' is always replaced by 'l' because I really hate the letter 'r'.

Balapuk: eine einfache Conlang

DE: Einige Sprachen sind schwierig: Lateinisch, russisch, chinesisch und Englisch unter ihnen. Sogar sind einige Conlangs (konstruierte Sprachen, künstliche Sprachen) schwierig. Das ist, was viele Leute über Volapük sagen.

Wie einfach kann eine Conlang sein, und noch arbeiten? Die Conlang Toki Pona hat nur etwas 130 Wörter. Basic English (Ogden) ist eine Conlang mit nur 850 Wörter. Ich habe mich entschieden, eine einfache Conlang zu machen, das Wörter aus Volapük nimmt. Ich nenne es Balapuk--- 'bal' von 'balik' (das bedeutet 'grundlegend') und 'puk' (das bedeutet 'Sprache')

Balapuk: simpla planlingvo

Balapuk: a simple conlang

EN: Some languages are complicated: Latin, Russian, Chinese and English among them. Even some conlangs (constructed languages, artificial languages) are complicated. That is what many folk say about Volapük.

One might question- how simple can a conlang be and still get the job done. There is Toki Pona which has a very small vocabulary, and Basic English.... I have decided to experiment on the creation of a simple conlang, using mostly roots from Volapük. I call it Balapuk--- 'bal' from 'balik', meaning basic, and 'puk' meaning language.

Free Volapük books online

Here is a list of Volapük books that are available for free in PDF format online. (Some say they are available in Kindle format, but I've found these versions to be badly scanned, uncorrected and thus unusable.) These are all in the original Volapuk, not the modern revision, and are all in the public domain. Some may be in print, available through Amazon.com.
